Unboxing and Setup

The box is an upgrade from EKSA’s standard offering, which features a magnetically clasping box that opens to reveal the charging case nestled in a cardboard housing.

Connecting the GT1 earbuds to your Bluetooth device of choice is a quick and easy process that takes no more than 10 seconds. Simply open the case, take one of the earbuds, launch the Bluetooth menu on your device, and select “GT1.” That’s all there is to it; that’s the extent of the work required to connect them. To clear the saved devices from the earbuds, simply hold the textured section of the earbud for ten seconds and repeat the pairing process. It’s simple and works exactly as you’d expect, which isn’t true of every device we’ve tested.

So, what exactly do we get?

Let’s get this review started by going over the contents of the box. The earbuds are packaged in a small package. It reveals the charging case after sliding it open and lifting the lid. The earbuds are stored in the case. The earbuds will be discussed in the next section. When we remove the case, we find a small plastic bag containing a USB-C charging cable as well as two additional pairs of ear tips / cups. The user manual, which is in English and contains all of the features, important connection steps, and touch controls with nice diagrams, is just below that. Before using the earbuds, make sure to read the instructions.

Performance

Let’s take a look at how to pair the EKSA GT1 True Wireless Gaming Earbuds with a Bluetooth device like a smartphone or a laptop before we look at their performance. The user manual lays out all of the instructions in detail. So please read it.

If the earbuds aren’t in the case yet, put them in and close the lid. The buds will be turned off and recharged as a result of this. By opening the lid, you can get the earphones out of the casing. The GT1 earbuds will enter pairing mode as a result of this. The blue LEDs on the earbuds (snake eyes) will blink faster during this time.

You can now pair your phone or laptop with the earbuds by turning on Bluetooth on your phone or laptop. They’ll be identified as ‘GT1’. The led blinking stops once the light is connected, and the light blinks every 10 seconds.

The earbuds also read out the status during power on / off, waiting to be paired, connected, game mode, and music mode, in addition to the LED indication.

Let’s take a look at the EKSA GT1 Gaming Earbuds. We started by putting music to the test. We used these earbuds to listen to classical, alternative rock, bass-boosted music, and EDM. The music has a great balance. The vocals are crystal clear, and the mids and lows are also well-balanced.

We used these earbuds during a workout to see if they were splash resistant (IPX4). During our workout, we did not experience any performance issues as a result of the sweat.

It’s now time to play some games. Initially, the buds were in’music mode,’ and we played a few gun-related games. Between the input of the trigger on the screen and the sound being transmitted to the earbuds, there is a slight delay.

Then we moved on to the earbuds’ main selling point: their ultra-low 38ms latency in game mode. To activate game mode, double-tap the earbuds, and the buds will respond with a voice saying ‘game mode,’ as well as the blue LEDs on the buds changing from blinking every 10s to breathing LEDs.

The audio transmission delay is significantly reduced in game mode, and the difference between regular music mode and game mode is easily discernible. These earbuds are perfect for gamers.

Although these headphones are designed for gaming, the built-in microphones can come in handy when making phone calls. We put the system through its paces with regular phone calls, skype chats, and zoom calls. The voice was crystal clear, with no background noise. Voice quality was never an issue for the other parties.

Because this is a Bluetooth device, it can be paired with smartphones, laptops, TVs, gaming consoles (with the exception of the PS5, which does not support audio over Bluetooth), or any other Bluetooth-enabled device that supports audio. The connection’s range is fairly standard. You can easily expect the buds to work their way up to the next room in regular homes and offices. However, the connection breaks after that.

Finally, the EKSA GT1 True Wireless Gaming Earbuds’ lightweight design makes them extremely comfortable to wear. We didn’t feel any heat around the ears even after hours of continuous wearing. There is no discomfort or fatigue, and you can select the appropriate ear tip from the three included in the package.

You should buy this if…

  • If you like TRON
  • You want to outperform the big-name competition in terms of value.
  • You are primarily concerned with sound and microphone quality.

You should not purchase this if…

  • you want your earbuds to be white and elephant-like.
  • You want the absolute best overall value.

EKSA’s GT1 earbuds are fine for what they are, and if you’re looking for a pair of good all-around buds for light fitness (I didn’t sweat test them to the extreme), PC and mobile gaming, and general music listening, they’ll do the trick. However, keep in mind that a large portion of the GT1’s price tag is dedicated to aesthetics. There are certainly worse earbud options for which you could be asked to overpay. As a result, EKSA’s offering compares favourably to the competition. Consumer reviews, on the other hand, can help you find the best deal on Amazon. That value isn’t going to be accompanied by a cool, glowing blue.
